On the cape
Gran Alacant: more than twenty-six urbanisations on the cape
Gran Alacant sits on the cape about four kilometres north of the town by the N-332, between the sierra of the cape and Carabassí beach. It is part of the municipality of Santa Pola, with some 12,314 registered residents in 2025, a third of the municipality, and a very international population; English is widely spoken.
Its homes are mostly bungalows, terraced houses and villas, many behind a community gate, and the name of the urbanisation is the first thing to tell us. Some of them:

The town centre

Blocks of flats over shops, round the 16th-century fortress and the town hall. Most front doors open off a communal street door.
To find you: From June to mid-September the streets round the Glorieta close to cars in the evening, and all day on Sundays. Expect the last stretch on foot, so give the street and the nearest corner.
The port and Varadero

The fishing district by the harbour and the salt pans, with the boats to Tabarca leaving from the quay. Flats, ground-floor homes and businesses that face the water.
To find you: Say which side of the harbour you are on, and whether you are by the boats or the beach.
Playa Lisa, Tamarit and Gran Playa

The beaches south-west of the centre, lined with apartment blocks, several of them from the late 1960s and early 1970s, many on the first line.
To find you: The name of the block, the stairway (escalera) and the door number save a lot of time.
Santa Pola del Este

Villas and terraced houses above small coves, many inside private urbanisations with a community gate, gardens and a pool.
To find you: Tell us whether the urbanisation gate is open, and who has the fob if it is not.
The cape and the lighthouse
Cabo de Santa Pola · Pueblo Levantino · Punta La Sierra
The headland, 144 m high, with its lighthouse of 1858, and the small settlements on its slopes.
To find you: A pin dropped on WhatsApp is the surest way to be found up here.
Next door
The Elche coast, from Arenales del Sol to La Marina
The beaches on either side of Santa Pola belong to the municipality of Elche, but they are closer to Santa Pola than to Elche city. These are covered day and night too:
- Arenales del Sol. A small resort of second homes on the beach north of Gran Alacant: about one resident in five is foreign, many of them retired.
- El Altet. The coastal village by Alicante–Elche airport, which lies inside Elche’s boundary.
- Los Balsares. The strip behind the Carabassí dunes, between Arenales and Gran Alacant.
- La Marina. The Elche village on the coast road south of Santa Pola, beyond the salt pans.
Not covered: Elche city and its inland villages, Alicante, Tabarca and Guardamar. For those, a locksmith based nearer will reach you sooner, and we will say so on the phone.

Do you cover Elche city or Alicante?
No. This service covers the municipality of Santa Pola and the Elche coast next to it, from Arenales del Sol to La Marina. For Elche city or Alicante, a locksmith based there will reach you sooner.
What about Tabarca?
Tabarca belongs to the municipality of Alicante and is not covered. If you lost your keys on a day trip there, the door back in Santa Pola is very much covered.

Is a call-out to Gran Alacant at night treated differently from one in town?
No. Same service and the same way of agreeing the price. Only the drive differs, and you are told what it looks like before anyone sets off.
